I have thought about this. Ron the twists look like they are righthand twist on the pigtails. Hard to tell in the pics. They should be left hand twist. Also see if you can take your fingernail and pull the loops over the heads of the bolts, if you can you don't have it tight enough, if it is not good and tight it wont hold the bolts. Dont be afraid to pull the wire hard, if needed a small hammer or tool to tap the pliers will help pull the wire tight to the hole. I know it can be hard to manipulate the wire when it is not mounted solid. If it breaks while tightening then you are working the wire. I have broke enough wire in my life..poop happens. Just start that one over. You have the gear out so it is easy to cut it off and start that pair again. Lastly the deflection on the wire between the pairs should be less then 1/8th of a inch. My 2 cents worth.
