Hello Everyone,
I'm writing to thank everyone associated with this forum.
Here's why.
I recently rectified some poor wiring modifications on 7259. I removed two 'hotwires', one for the ignition circuit and one for the charge circuit. I also replaced the externally regulated alternator with an internally regulated, reconnected the 1.4 ohm resistance wire at the ignition switch, wired the pre duraspark (green strain relief) as per "Georges handy..." and reconnected the white wire (from tacho) to the charge indicator light. It was on the cooling fan indicator and therefore on all the time.
Everything worked great, until I went to shut it down. It kept running, but would only shut down if I put my foot on the brake?? A quick search of the forum found the exact same problem and the cure was a simple diode from the white wire to the charge indicator light, to block the feedback of ~9 volts back to the ignition circuit. What a great time saver!
Thank you again!
Matthew
