I speak only for me ..the seat belts sold on ebay were an upgrade to my 1979 Pantera as the ORIGINAL seat belts that were in the car when I bought it didnt engage ..so anything was better then the ones installed.

On top of that there was a bolt in 4 point roll cage thatw as never bolted in place with shoulder harnesses fastened to it. That was the first thing I removed when I bought the car.

My goal was to install seat belts that worked and that were as close to the originals as possible. the ones on ebay seemed to be jsut fine.

Did I know they had to be DOT approved .. NO !

I wanted stock looking seat belts.

When was the last time you changed your seat belts in your daily driver or a car you drive less the 100 miles a year.

Money is definately not the issue.
