seat travel

I'm back in the saddle after 27 years. I'm not sure if I shrunk, but I can't get the seat up close enough to comfortably reach the pedals on the '72 I just bought. Didn't have the problem the first time around. I'm 5'8", so this ain't supposed to happen. You think someone move the tracks or what? What can I do. This isn't the kind of car you want to let get away from you cause you're not quite in control.
