Reply to "seating piston rings"

Plasma molly rings are very hard and require a special hone on your cylinders to facilitate a good seal of the rings to the walls of the cylinders. use a NON synthetic break in oil for the first 500 miles, drive your car with varying r.p.m. during break in, it could take as long as 2000 miles to break in plasma molly rings. On synthetic oils, the non petroleum based oil is so slick, modern engines designed to run them show virtually no wear after extended miles, I read a article in popular mechanics ( I think ) that after 100,000 miles on a L.S. engine running 5/30 synthetic their was no measurable wear!
This is why it is not used for break in. Get the current oil out and put in a break in petroleum based oil.
