Thanks for the reply. I put the new alternator back on and still it does not
charge the battery. On turning the headlights on the ammeter shows discharging.
So I must assume it is a bad unit. It only has 2 wires. A big bone that goes to the battery terminal of the alterator (other end I am told go to ammeter). And a small wire
that connects to a flat terminal that goes to the internal regulator. Is there an easy way to test an alternator, or must I take it somewhere to have it checked? Thx.
