Seeking tips for bringing Panteras purchased in Canada into the US

Folks:
My question is regarding purchases of Panteras in Canada, is there any type of procedure to grease the entry of the vehicles to the States. A friend of mine purchased a 1967 Volvo GT in Canada and had a bit of a problem getting the car into the US. I was wondering in the event I find a Canadian car would that be a problem...?
Any thoughts please are welcome.
