series 1 Engine covers

The pantera I purchased did not have the engine covers. I looked into purching them but they were $450 EACH, so I decided to make them myself. I have completed the mold for the pair but am wondering if fiberglass is the way to go. The originals were metal, should I transfer the foam mold to a harder materal so that I can hammer some aluminum or steel, or is fibergalss ok.
Any body out ther looking for some engine covers? I will have an empty mold soon.
