I hope that's stainless on the lathe- aluminum will probably get really hot in Summertime or after a 'spirited' drive. I've touched the stick and its hot-coffee-temperature after a couple of hours of highway driving. If you need shiny, stainless doesn't transfer heat as well as aluminum. I use a stock knob- one of a handful of things that are still OEM on our car.
