silicone brake fluid

What are the advantages/disadvantasges of silicone brake fluid with one obvious disadvantge of about $25 per quart. I have heard that it won't affect paint and does not attract moisture like regular fluid. Are both these claims true? Is it worth the extra $$$$? If it does not affect paint $25 bucks seems like cheap insurance. If you use silicone do the clutch and brake system still need to be changed every year?
