There have been two problems with the slide show:
People have asked to have picture of their car added to it, but Photobucket no longer supports the format that slide show had been built with. In order to add pictures I would have to build a new slide show from scratch using their new format.
Members have complained the slideshow uses too much band width, it takes forever for the home page to open-up in some member's situations, forcing them to log-on with the summary page instead.
Considering those things, it seems like it would be a waste of my time to build a new slide show if it creates problems for some members anyway.
So I've taken down the slide show, temporarily or permanently, depending upon your feedback. We all like pictures. What I'd like to replace the slide show with is a picture of a member, posed with their De Tomaso. I'd like to replace the picture every week or two. So the picture will be constantly updated and we'll all have the opportunity to see members and their cars. Think of it as a very very slow slide show.
But also a way for us to get to know each other, and to enhance the sense of community we have.If this sounds like a good idea to you please help me out, send me a picture of you posed with your car, please. Email it to the club office, i.e. pi.club@panteracars.com. Provide a bit of information for the caption, your name, the year, model and chassis number of your car. The place where the picture was taken, i.e. city, state/province, country.
