Reply to "So, how bad is it going to be?"

Problem one sounds like a clogged fuel filter. Problem two sounds like a weak battery from limited running time. With all do respect to George who knows a hell of a lot more than I ever will. I would have the battery checked first. It is a lot easier than pulling the starter.
