Just spray the car with a rustproofing agent (some good options discussed in another thread) and drive her until one of you drops. These days rust can be pretty effectively slowed down, if not halted and so it won't get too much worse unless you encounter snow and salt which I'm guessing is unlikely in TN. At least you can enjoy the ride!
