Jeff, the best solution for total tire failure is to buy or upgrade your Automobile club membership to the maximum tow range, have cash and credit cards. For slow leaks in the middle of nowhere buy the biggest can of puncture sealant you can find. The can of sealant will not do the job if the tire bead is broken.That or carry two different size spares, one for the front, one for the rear. A 34 year old tire, canister and a tire pump forget it,it will not work. CHUCK
