I recently discovered major performance enhancement by going to a wider gap. I'm using an MSD setup. I went from .45 to .51 and had a quite noticeable difference in acceleration. It depends on what compression you are running on that deal (the more compression, the smaller the gap). Be sure to read the MSD recommendations if you go this route.
