Reply to "speedo cable lube"

I undid both ends of my assy. so I could flush out the sheath.
You must pull the cable out the dash end of the sheath. There's a brass ferrule crimped on the cable at that end that prevents it from coming out the ZF end.
I'm going to use a squirt oiler to pump the sheath full of oil, then feed an also oiled up cable back in. I intend to reattach the dash end first, then the ZF end. More room at the ZF end.
From prior experiences with speedo cables I know it can sometimes be difficult to get the squared ends of the cable properly engaged at the speedo and/or trans connection. You might have to twist the cable just a bit to get it lined up right. Be careful, patient and don't force it.
