Maybe you got something there, I put in the 5 watt bulbs and can see things better on either the speedo or tach, but still not so well on the other. (It's been a few weeks since I've driven it at night...one (either the tach or speedo) is illuminated fine the other is visible if I look at it a little longer and let my pupils dialate.)
Can you show a photo of your mods, when you take them out again, that is, please? I may do this later, on my 2004 project list. Was it difficult to remove the tach and speedo?
I really like the White Face guages, and wanna do this sometime, and incorporate your dual bulb system when I do it.

As always, thanks for the tip. I've been looking for a higher watt bulb to illuminate the dimmer of the two (speedo/tach) at nite, but I'm now happy I didn't find a higher watt bulb. Because I haven't melted anything and won't!
