Reply to "Speedometer cable removal"

I consistently have the same problem with my speedometer cable connecting to the right angle gear. It will not come out. My solution is to takeoff the right angle gear. That takes the stress off of the cable and the gear and then I can get it out. The right angle gear comes off the transaxle surprisingly easily although it looks like a difficult task Take your time putting it back in because the threading is counterintuitive
