Steve, when you get around to replacing the cut crossmember with a removable one, remember to NOT pull the rails together if the fit is too loose. Instead, shim as required for a slip fit. Likewise, if its too tight, don't force the things. Maybe selective grinding on the crossmember ends will allow things to fit up. Both forcing or pulling in with the a-arm bolt will somewhat change your rear wheel alignment by repositioning the lower rear a-arm(s).
