Reply to "Starter Solenoid (Starter Relay)"

The wire connected to the "S" terminal is the wire that activates the relay.

The wire connected to the "I" terminal connects directly to the coil positive terminal, bypassing any ballast resistance in the ignition circuit. It is intended to only provide power (100% battery power) to the coil during starting. Ignitions which operate full time on 100% battery voltage, such as Duraspark I or EDIS, do not require this connection.
