Reply to "Stock AC vs. Vintage Air"

I just finished up my last pantera, I have had 7 and the last 3 I put Sanden units on. On the last car a early 72 I used the usual sanden 91-74001x wt an adapter plate, the factory condenser was left in place, I had to get a new evaporator as the heater was leaking, I did all my own lines and a new filter dryer. When I finished up the system I had 38 degrees and it was 90 degrees outside and the temp inside the car was still  was dropping and it was not a full charge.  If you need to do the evaporator just bench check it to make sure it will hold some pressure especially on the heater side.

If you are going this far make sure that your steel heater lines are not filled wt crap and plugged up as mine were and i deleted them and when to my speed shop and they had high pressure and more important high them rubber line that went right in, it took longer to remove the old stell lines

The dash takes about 1.5 hours to pull.

Good Luck  ACS
