A while back I did a search for the original mirror that was installed by the dealer on my '71 Pantera (#1490). The Ford number that I came up with was D4AZ-17696-A (I know, that's a '74 part number). The search lead me to Auto Krafters in Newmarket, VA.

At that time, Auto Krafters listed that part number as being a genuine Ford part, but they were out of stock. They did stock a D4AZ-17696R, which is a reproduction of that Ford part number. I purchased the reproduction mirror. It is virtually identical to my original mirror except for one very, very tiny exception. Even if you have the original Ford mirror to compare it to, the difference is difficult to detect.
