I would monitor the a/f ratio: 1) on a dyno; or 2) under load on the road; or 3)do an old-fashioned plug check

What ever you trust. if the plugs look good or the dyno monitor says 14 to 1 you are good to go.

I know my supercharged tacoma ALWAYS has a black sooty exhaust but the dyno showed a good a/f ratio, it runs strong and I can get 26mpg on a trip so I ignore the tailpipe.
