Reply to "Stroker Crankshafts - Aluminum Heads - Performance Induction Systems - 500 or More Horsepower From Small Block Fords"

I built my first Cleveland about 1976 or 1977. I bought Ford service Boss heads and valve train.

My parts Manager asked if I wanted the "heavy duty block". I was getting parts at 10 over.
I remember thinking, 1100 for a block? Forget it. So the dealer cost was around 990 plus 10 made close to 1100.
SHOULD I have bought it? No question but thats when I bought a used short block out of a wrecked Pantera.
When I went to pick it up from the machine shop, the guy told me never to come back. He had to resharpen four or five times and claimed I cheated him with a special racing block?
