Thanks for getting back to me. I can pull/push the axle flange for the u-joint up and down, I guess that would be radial run out. There is a difference in this radial run out from side to side, not alot but it is there. AS for in and out, they are the same and with very little movement.
So I think you just said to me that I can remove the side cover, remove and service the AXle and it's bearing and replace it into the trans without effecting the ring and pinion. Is that right? Hhhmmm... ZF, strong AND user friendly! While I am replacing this bearing, do we now make better bearings than those that originally came in this box? And are they worth installing?
