No real help. My brand new clutch just did the same thing last week. I started to prepare to pull the trans, then I heard a "snap" and the thing released. You might consider to loosen the bellhousing bolts to see if releasing some pressure might fix things. In the end you might have to pull the trans but small steps along the way might prevent you from having to undertake that feat.
