I've done this a few times on other cars by raising the rear wheels off the ground then starting the engine in gear with the clutch pedal fully depressed. If this doesn't work straight away run it till it's warmed then apply brakes - don't forget to keep the other foot on the clutch pedal.

Usually it works - but be very very careful, if the wheels touch the ground you might find yourself driving through the house! And don't be too brutal or you could damage the box.
