[Here are a few links that might shed some light for you. http://www.martelbros.com/msd/support/84.htm http://www.martelbros.com/msd/support/85.htm http://www.martelbros.com/msd/support/86.htm http://www.martelbros.com/msd/support/87.htm http://www.martelbros.com/msd/support/88.htm
If you have a magnetic trigger distributor, you probably need MSD 8920.
If you have points or a Unilite type distributor, probably an 8910.
The original Pantera tach in 71-74 models appears to be a voltage triggered type - NOT a current triggered type.
Hope that helps.

When I rebuilt the motor, I changed to a MSD distributor and Ignition. Hooking up the tach, it doesn't work. I have been told that I amy need an adapter since I have original factory gauges and they are known not to work with the standard MSD hook up..
Can anyone shead some light on this for me.
Thanks. I appreciate the help.
