Charlie, Dennis,

Even if you do have a tach adapter, they often fail. Sometimes they go 'in and out' before finally kicking the bucket. This is what happened to mine.

I've read on this forum of a guy getting new ones that didn't work, and changing it 3 times before he got a good one!
