Peter,

The washer reference is only for an internal hydraulic release bearing. If you have the stock style throw out (release) bearing with the external slave cylinder and arm then ignore any comments about washers. If you have some amount of free clearance between the bearing and the pressure plate fingers when clutch is at rest then you are good.
