Forest, not exactly true. My McLeod conventional ToB had a number of Rings in different thickness. They could be combined in many ways to achieve the correct length of the whole ToB assembly. I adjusted for 1,5mm play when fully retracted and cold. And I had one of the rings in surplus after that. I still have it somewhere and if I remember correct it was a lot thicker than 1,5mm

btw the 1,5mm comes from somewhere in the Pantera specific literature. Cant tell where on the top of my Heart.

I can only imagine if people just install the ToB without checking and it will likely cause a lot of trouble later on due to Bearing constantly running on the fingers/pressure plate and perhaps even pushing it in and putting a preload on the Clutch which is BAD. It can not be adjusted away on the Linkage either.
