Are you sure you are not confusing the Waste Gate which opens under load when the turbo pressure reaches the maximum value determined to let some of the exhaust gases escape directly and the Dump Valve which opens when the accelerator is released to recycle the compressed air between the compressor outlet and inlet or directly outside?
