Making one car of two damaged ones is called a "splitter" or a 'clipped car' and is accepted practice as long as the mod is done by competent people. I've driven several that handled well. In racing its not only accepted, its common. Adding a front or rear clip is OK in my book as long as the fact is known to a purchaser.
