Congrats on taking possession of your car.

Like every other car you've owned, the more you drive it, the more you and the car shall become "one".

The Pantera does have some bump steer, which can be lessened with spacers between the steering rack and the chasis. But what you are describing is most likely a steering rack that needs rebuilding, there is a plastic bushing that is most likely in bad shape and is replaced by a bronze bushing in the rebuild kits.

There may be other worn suspension components as well. The Pantera transmits every wart on the road through the steering wheel, you can feel the nuance of tire traction. I love it and wish all cars were so communicative.

As a side note, my first ride in my Pantera, one of the interior heater hoses let go, scalded my right foot so that I couldn't keep my foot on the accelerator, and filled the interior with steam so that I couldn't see where I was going. At 70 mph on the Hollywood to Golden State FWY interchange in mid-day traffic.

Everyone needs a first drive story.
