I think it would be interesting.

I just bought a gallon of Rat Rod black from Eastwood. I was going to paint the 68 Mustang project with it but changed my mind and went Grabber Blue and black instead. Almost done with that too.

Unlike primer the Eastwood stuff is a finish matte paint so it protects the surface just like a clear. It's not flat. It does not need a clear appied over it. Primer is porous and will absorb moisture....this stuff won't.
