The Pantera has got to be the most personalized car ever made. A possible exception might be the '30s Fords but those are considered "hot rods".

My personal opinion is that the underlying cause is that the car is just too cheap to buy.

You can't buy anything like this in the $5,000 to $25,000 range.

Very few Lambo's or Feraris are personalized to this extent not necessarily because of a "purity to the breed" but because the cost to much to turn them into an advanced 12th grade shop class project.

There are still many if not a lot or really cheap Panteras for sale in the US. If you notice, this is largely a US phenomenon. That is where the bulk of these cars were sold.

It actually isn't entirely limited to Panteras. There are still quite a few Covettes that have not fallen into the "classic vet" category yet that have turned into Fiber Fab wanna be's.

As far as headlights go, if you consider the change in US headlight laws since the Pantera was new, you might have a different solution then the original pop-ups?
