I'm talking about the female type fitting that threads on carb.

Not sure what you are referring to, but the threading on the cable ends should be a 10/32 thread.

By the way, I had my frayed cable rebuilt, using most of the stock parts, by an industrial cable shop here in town. They had new 10/32 ends in stock.

Nothing exotic about the cable and any shop that builds/repairs cables as used in industrial/farming applications should be able to do the job for you.
