Not too long ago I used to have a Mini Cooper, a real one not a BMW. For me that was a perfect starter classic. Racing green metallic with a white roof. I fitted it with a stage one kit and some other goodies it gave 90 BHP on the roling road, which was plenty for a 1300 LBS car.
That thing handeled like a go kart and sounded nasty with the straight trough exhaust. Everytime I started her up it would almost rattle the windows out of my garage!
Another one I have fond memories of was my 1970 Chevy Caprice. It was a 4 door hardtop with a 400 small block. That thing was bone stock but it shure did go with that 400 block!
That was back in the early nineties when I lived in Michigan and in CA. A dollar a gallon and not a care in the world!
