Study that photo. See the gold tint metal on the left? That is the Aviad oil pan. See how the rear of the dampener outer ring is now in contact with the pan?

See the 1/2" of semi-shiny metal to the right of the outer ring? The outer ring is supposed to be flush with the front edge of that newly exposed metal.

Classic separation of the inner / outer pieces with full rearward movement of the outer ring.

Sigh...but better found now than in the parking lot of The Orleans.
