When the BFG radial TA was first introduced it was designed to mount a 7.0" rim. What the current generation of that tire requires is, I believe the same.

I do use it on the back of my 68 GT350 on stock 7" Shelby 10 spoke alloy rims. I run them at 35 psi and they seem to run very well.
