Transaxle/bell housing question

Pardon the non-technical description of my question. Got my car on a lift for the first time and inspected the undercarriage. I noticed something that is perplexing but hard to describe. There are several holes in the bell housing that appear to be tapped for bolts but there are no bolts. There is a very slight leak at that point. I checked all of my technical manuals and couldn't figure out what's up. It's scary to see bolt holes with no bolts. Again, sorry for the incomplete description. The car does have a Centerforce clutch setup.
