Well to weld titanium you have to keep the piece submurged in a oxygen free enviroment. The Russians were famous for there ability to weld titanium, since the hulls of there submarines were made out of the stuff. Can you imagine working in a huge building and knowing that it was a death trap if your breathing gear quit??? More then one person died that way.
