Let me put it another way: the owner of the monster-powered Pantera, in 8 years of running with 426 and 574 cubic inch engines, had exactly one (1) trans failure. Seems he gor airborne at 240 mph and didn't back off when he landed. The impact load snapped the clutch input shaft like a wet noodle, but the remainder was fine and re-useable. This ZF was regeared with a 2.47:1 ring & pinion (I think) and was rebuilt by RBT trans, but was otherwise stock. The car weighed 4200+ lbs ready to race with a 37-gal fuel cell, which emptied in 90 miles. Good luck with your project; IMHO, trans problems will be the least of your troubles...
