Reply to "Tuning Weber Carbs"

My first recommendation is to find a Weber specialist and pay him for his time. There are 5 jets and two air bleeds per barrel, you have eight barrels, and all the jets interlock to some extent. The cheapest Weber jet is about $4.50; one tends to accumulate quantities of these things when tuning. I spent years getting my Webers to run properly, and still they changed significantly several times a year, for no known reason. They are very sensitive to debris so use the best big filter you can find, they do not tolerate additives well either since most change the density of gasoline enough to affect jetting. Good linkage can also be a problem, and I'm sure you know they have been out of production in Italy for a decade, so parts aren't easy to find. It can be done, but....
