Turn signal help needed

I am beginning to lose hope in my turn signals. What seemed like it should be a relatively minor issue is looking more like the search for the holy grail of blinkerdom.
Basically, I have been restoring this beast for quite a while I am not sure when the last time the signals were used (probably early 80s).
So far I have replaced the hazard flasher, all bulbs, checked/cleaned/secured the grounds and replaced the fuses. When I select the right turn signal, I have a flashing rear turn signal and no front turn signal. If I select the left turn signal I get nothing but all lights blinking a little due to what looks like electrical draw. The dash indicator is working and I hear the flasher working.
Does anyone have any ideas???
