Reply to "turn Signal Switch"

Now I am a little more confused about the switch positions. Mine appear to be the opposite of what was described. Towrds the driver is Low beam. The center position is high beams. the pressure away from the driver opens a set of contacts inside the switch that opens the Lowbeam circuit. I do not see how it could be mounted backwards because the plastic piece that makes contact with the metal block welded to the steering column shaft for release of the turn signal would not be functional.

Am I loosing It?

The cars electrical wiring was cobbled up by prior owner. Everytime I start chasing something I find a bunch of mysterious "fixes".
