Ugh! Throttle Cable came undone again.

Well, the deal I got on my goose is never ending in the gifts that it gives back. I went to start the goose, and stupidly stomped on the accelerator petal to get it started. Well, I pulled the cable, which i had replaced, out of the carb connection that I had rigged up. When I got my car, someone had band-aided the throttle by soldering the petal to the cable. I removed the cable, and replaced it with a VW cable, which attached very nicely to the petal. On the other end though, I had nothing. So it looks like I am back to the drawing board. Looking for thoughts, and chuckles...
