On the gas pedal end of the throttle cable, under the removable panel in the front luggage compartment, there is a gas pedal over run adjustment. It is a nifty bolt and lock nut that you set. Have someone put the pedal to the floor and then unscrew the pedal stop bolt until it touches the pedal, stopping it. Then make sure, on the carburetor end of the cable that the throttle plate is wide open. That will prevent stretching or breaking the cable.
