Reply to "Under $35,000, rotisserier restoration, for sale, but not my car"

Hi all,
I guess I should finally address all of the banter about the Pantera I just sold. To all of you enthusiasts, thank you for so much hype, less the Rip Van Winkle comments. Let's review for a moment, my goal was to sell my Pantera to a fellow enthusiast who will preserve and care for a car that is, without a doubt, a great piece of history. I have achieved this goal. Perhaps I may have sold the car for less that it's worth, but, I have generated alot of excitement for the Pantera cause. SOME Panteras are worth $45-55K+, most are not(sorry everyone). The rest of you who think your Panteras are worth $45-55K when they are not, are really doing a disservice to the Pantera community. What do you think the public perception is to your cars that are posted in the internet for 3+ months while you try to attain your asking price? Is your car worth that much??? Maybe in terms of what you have into it, but any knowledgable person knows that for every dollar of restoration you put into a car, 99% of the time you will get back 20-30 cents on the dollar when you sell it. For those of you who don't realize that, you end up listing your cars on the net with prices that are $10-15K too high. The big picture is that you turn other potential enthusiasts off to the Pantera as a sound investment and a great car worthy of restoration dollars.
I love the Pantera, I will own another Pantera in the future, and selling my car for an additional $5K is not really that big a deal, especially if it keeps me in the company of people like the gentleman who bought the car (thansk Dave) as opposed to the rude people who criticized me for doing the Pantera community a "disservice" for selling the car at a fair price. I'm happy and the new owner is happy. If any of you were so unhappy with my asking price, why didn't you buy the car immediately and relist it for a profit just to get it off of the net to perserve your perceived values.
P.S. If you haven't noticed my house in the background of the Pantera, it would explain why you feel an additional $5-10K would make a big difference to me.
Regards.

Don't care where you live, this one's worth the trip to buy it and drive it home. Enough speed, and you can hydroplane all the way across the Atlantic or Pacific Ocean.

Maybe I shoulda waited to but a Pantera, hmmm....
