I have a technical question if you don't mind.

Is the clearance between the flow restrictor plate and the thermostat skirt such that the alignment of the thermostat in the housing needs to be verified. as if it is off the skirt will hangup as it heats up. Is there a method to verify proper alignment?

Bear with my questions as I don't have my block to go look at and I am learning.
